d Mackie is the name on many lips in the UK dance scene. Holding down a residency at Colour held in the worlds number 1 club Sankeys, as voted by DJ Mag. In the past 12 months alone he has supported some of the biggest names in Techno, including Jeff Mills, Chris Liebing, Dave Clarke, Laurent Garnier, Joey Beltram, Speedy J, Surgeon, The Advent, Killa Productions (Ben Sims vs Paul Mac), Gaiser, Technasia, Oliver Ho / Raudive, Billy Nasty, Robert Hood, Frank Lorber, James Ruskin, Bas Mooy and Phil Kieran.
The first big break for Ed was being resident for the Techno Experiment under the name Mucky Beats performing B2B with DJs such as… Jerome Hill (Don’t) , Ade Fenton (Atomic Jam) , John Berry (The Orbit) , Henry Cullen (Mutate To Survive).
This summer Mr Mackie has been tearing up Clubs and Festivals across the UK including Creamfields for the 3rd year running , Radio 1′s big weekend warm up & after party’s with Annie Mac, Pete Tong & Zane Lowe, Meganite With Adam Beye & Mauro Picotto , Wakestock, Colour with DJ Rush & Ben Sims, Gottwood, M_nus with Hearttrob. Next up is Colour at Sankeys with Sandwell District Live , Joey Beltram & Felix Krocher.
On a production front, under his alter ego Mucky Beats, Ed has released on labels such as Kick The Drum and Glen Wilsons Compound records. Expect big things in 2010 as Ed Mackie is back in the studio working on his new sound and has some massive releases dropping in late 2010!
